AFMT and differential pressure transmitters are often used in flow measurement. With different pressure sensing holes on the AFMT, we can obtain the average flow within the duct and improve the problem that occurred in flow measurement where disturbance occurs when there is no adequate space within the straight inlet.
AFMT is a probe that we insert into the duct (along with the entire diameter) to measure the flow. When the probe encounters the flow, it will detect and obtain the average total pressure P1 on the windward side and the static pressure P2 on the leeward side. AFMT then obtains the flow velocity by measuring the difference between total pressure and static pressure (i.e., dynamic pressure (∆P) and average flow velocity (V).
